PROCEDURES: ADMISSION TO VISA
February (tier 1), July (tier 2), and October/November are the admissions months for Australian universities (tier3). Bachelor’s degrees normally take three years of full-time study and require a Class 12 (or) + 2 qualification as well as an IELTS score of six bands with no band less than 5.5. Masters degrees usually take 1 to 2 years of full-time study and require an IELTS score of 6.5 bands, with no band lower than 6 and in certain circumstances even lower. PTE and TOEFL are also recognised by Australian universities. Part-time job: During the sessions, students are allowed to work 40 hours a week, and full-time during academic breaks and vacations. The national minimum wage in Australia is $17.29 per hour as of July 1, 2015. Successful graduates can apply for a Post Study Work Visa, which permits them to stay and hunt for a full-time employment while remaining eligible to apply for Permanent Migration via the General Skilled Independent Migration programme. STUDENT VISA
After receiving unconditional admission from a university/TAFE, students must pay a one-time semester fee to the school and receive an acceptance letter known as an eCOE (Electronic Confirmation of Enrolment). Students must next show that they have sufficient cash and that their family can financially support their education in Australia for the duration of their studies. Because the visa is an electronic visa, a physical passport is not necessary for its issuance.
INDUSTRY & JOBS
There are 19 different types of industries. Three of these industries employ over a million people in Australia. The top six companies employ almost 56 percent of all workers. There are two of them:
1) health care and social assistance (12 percent of workforce)
2) The Retail Industry (9 percent )

EDUCATION SYSTEM IN AUSTRALIA
Higher Education and Post-secondary Education are the two types of post-secondary institutions in Australia (i.e. the universities, graduate business schools, theological colleges etc). State Technical and Further Education (TAFE) is a type of vocational education and training. Universities offer bachelor’s degrees, master’s degrees, and research opportunities. TAFE — Offers diplomas and vocationally oriented courses but does not sponsor research. Universities were founded in Sydney (1850), Melbourne (1853), Adelaide (1874), Tasmania (1890), Queensland (1909), and Western Australia (1909). (1912). Following WWII, four further universities were founded: ANU in 1946, UNSW in 1949, New England in 1953, and Monash in 1958. Macquarie, La Trobe, Newcastle, Flinders, James Cook, Griffith, Murdoch, Deakin, and Wollongong were all founded between 1964 and 1975. Universities in the United Kingdom, particularly Edinburgh and London, served as early examples. The Student Visa system was replaced in 1989 by a system of “full fees” for non-local students, with no effective constraints on the number of students. In Australia, there are 43 universities. There are 40 public universities, two international institutions, and one private university in the United States. The Group of Eight is a collection of the world’s top research universities. The Australian Technology Network is a consortium of Australia’s best technology-focused universities. Universities that focus on research in Australia are known as Innovative Research Universities. The Regional Universities Network is a collection of regional colleges and universities.
